Scholarships

Education Nursing Scholarship Program

What is the purpose?

To enhance recruitment and retention, Community Memorial Hospital offers financial assistance to students enrolled in nursing degree programs, specifically registered nurse.

Who is eligible?

You must be accepted and/or currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program. Scholarships will be awarded for present and future semesters, but not previously attended semesters. You must be attending school as a full or part time student and remain in that status. You must have and maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

How are scholarships awarded?

A personal interview with each candidate is conducted at which time Community Memorial Hospital evaluates the likelihood for professional success, customer service orientation, work ethic and enthusiasm. A transcript of the candidates grades and references are reviewed as well.

How does the scholarship work?

  • Scholarships are awarded up to $750 per semester. The amount will be prorated if you are a part-time student. The number of scholarships awarded may vary by semester.
  • The scholarship is to be used for tuition costs only. Books, fees, or any other associated costs may not be paid with the scholarship money.
  • Applicants who are awarded the scholarship are required to make a six (6) month commitment to work at Community Memorial Hospital, as a staff nurse, for each semester the Scholarship is awarded.
  • Your employment with Community Memorial Hospital must begin with 30 days of graduation, on a full time basis (24 or more hours per week).

How do I apply?

Applications can be submitted throughout the year for consideration for the following semester.

Deadlines are:

April 1 for Summer semester
June 1 for Fall semester
November 1 for Winter semester

Other Healthcare Scholarships
